Hello :)
Now that the little one is settling in, I thought I'd show you all how beautiful he is :D
They said he is around 10 weeks old but he is tiny and only weighs 315g, he's still a little shaky but he seems to be settling in fine :) i've got him on his own just so that I can keep an eye on him and make sure he's healthy whilst Theo recovers from an unexpected URI which we found shortly after the little one arriving:(
Anyway, this is Jupiter :)image.webpimage.webp image.webp

He's beautiful! 315g is very small for ten weeks so he is probably more like 4-6 weeks old. Keeping them apart for a week or two is exactly the right thing to do so you can make sure both Theo and Jupiter are in the best of health before introducing them.

Here's a few threads to read about introductions, it's not always easy with boys but there are some tips that may help. They are both young which is a big point in favour of them getting on well but you will need to keep a close eye on them as they hit their hormonal teenage stage at 6-18 months as that's when most problems occur.

Patience is key, don't rush them into getting on with each other, it takes time for piggies to settle into a pair so don't expect great things overnight.

Good luck and welcome little Jupiter!

Thank you :) he's so sweet. Yeah, as soon as I got him home and held him, I had a feeling he was a lot younger than they said. I think he's still a little stressed from the move as he isnt eating :(
Thats the plan, I really hope they get along, fingers crossed.
Thank you for the information, I'll read theough the threads and find out the best way to introduce them.
I'll be very patient, thank you for your help :)

Is he pooing ok? It is very important he eats as once a piggy stops eating their guts slow down it's very difficult to get them started again and it can become very serious quite quickly. Just keep him quiet and sit and talk to him so he gets used to you. It's a scary world when you are a mini pig whose been taken from his mama probably before he should have been, put in a truck, delivered to a shop, bought, moved house and meeting new people when you are only weeks old.

Make sure he's got somewhere good to hide and put his food close by so he can get at it without really having to come out in the open. That may encourage him to eat. He will probably not have had much in the way of veggies before so introduce them slowly so he doesn't over do it and see what he likes and doesn't like. Herbs like basil, mint and parsley are quite strong smelling and attractive to nom!

Yeah, he seems to be pooing fine, I've just spotted him taking a few pellets so I think he'll be alright, must just be a little bit scared still.
Thats understandable, he must be so shaken. But I've been sitting with him on my lap and feeding him a couple of slices of cucumber.
Thank you for the suggestions, I'll definitely try him with those :D

Give little Jupiter time to get his bearings and place some food and hay not far from his hidey. he'll probably dart out once nobody is looking and he is feeling safe. That is very normal behaviour for new piggies, especially for those that have never been well loved pets.

I've moved his bowl closer and he seems to be eating more now :)
Hopefully he'll start to feel more comfortable and safe soon.

He does seem tiny.I have two 4 week old piggies and the bigger one is his size.He is gorgeous.

Awh, he must be around the same age then :( bless him. Its horrible how young piggies at pet shops are. When I saw him being bullied by the bigger pig in the cage I had to take him. He's so lovely :) little nibbler though haha
