It looks like I am adding to my guinea family. My friend texted me the other day to say there was a beautiful little girl in the adoption section at Pets At Home.... I went round to have a look. She is lovely. I don't wish to consider what will happen to her if she is not re-homed. They have told me that a rabbit next door to her will be destroyed if it is not re-homed. So this little piggie is coming to me tomorrow or Friday...
 
Its very lucky that shes coming to you. I can't believe that they put animals to sleep just because they don't sell can't they find a rescue centre or sanctuary for them.

The last pig I got came from a rescue centre who told me that they got her from a vets who had told the pet shop that they would put her to sleep but didn't and all because she has an extra toe.
 
how rediculous! an extra toe is no reason to put a piggy down! Thank goodness for all the piggy rescuers out there, love and best wishes to each and every rescue in the world xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well done you for adopting her ... I am dying to see a photo of her when she has settled in.
 
Erm i dont think Pets at Home put animals to sleep because they cannot be rehomed though... Mine dont?

They act as a rehoming for other people as well sometimes and sometimes people say that to get them a home rather than actually doing it...

its great that ou are going to have her but what about the rabbit is there a reason he is not getting a home? I would check with the head office on their policy about the adoption part of pets at home...:)
 
The rabbit is apparently unwell. But that is not a reason to be destroyed.

There are pigtures of Lily in the photo gallery, and the breed section. I've only taken three as it is her first night. More to follow... and more of Nigel too. He needs a photo shoot.

I really hope things work out happier for her and Nigel. Rocky was horrible to him, poor lad. He needs a gentle friend. Having said that, my dad seems to be spending an awful lot of time with Nigel. Male bonding and all that.
