Since we lost Phoebe, we knew that at some point we wanted to adopt another skinny, it is not the same without her. Katie is still here and she is doing really well, but it is still so quiet. A week ago Ross was tagged on Facebook by a lady we know who runs a rescue in Surrey and who we adopt our hamsters from. They had taken in 2 skinny sows and wanted to know if we could offer them a home. Of course we said yes straight away and Ross is picking them up tomorrow afternoon. We will keep them separate for a couple of weeks until they are settled, and then we will decide which group they will join. Probably not Katie's herd due to her inability to share cozies so it will either be Ellie's little trio, or Mabel's herd with the little sows we adopted a few weeks ago from Hazelcroft but they are still working out their hierarchy.

Anyway, the rescue were told they are 7 months old but we all think the larger one is older. The little one will be called Thumbelina and the larger one Tabitha.

Here they are:

All the best with settling in your new girls! Enjoy having some skinny girls in your home again!

Very sweet, great names as well! :)
I hope everything goes well after the settling in time for you and your tribe welcome their new friends with 'open paws' :luv:

Awwwww! So happy you are able to adopt some new skinnies!
They are so adorable!
And I absolutely love their names!
Good luck with introducing them! Hope it goes well! :D x

Thank you everyone, am really excited. Been a rubbish couple of weeks so is something to look forward to. Apparently they are being little divas, very vocal and eating absolutely loads, just like Katie who now comes and shouts at us if there is no hay in front of her cozy.

They are lovely! They couldn't be coming to a more caring loving home than with you both!

Ooo how exciting! :D What a lucky pair of gorgeous girlies - looking forward to seeing more pigtures!

The girls are here and they're ginormous. Make us realise that Katie (and Phoebe) is not normal for a skinny. I think they must have been very badly inbred. These 2 look at least 1000g whereas Katie is only 719g at the moment due to her heart issue, but even at her biggest she was only about 850g. They are also only about 7 months old.

These two have settled in so quickly, they now shout as soon as I go in the kitchen and keep shouting even though they have veg as they can see the others are still shouting. They're really friendly too. I think they were well cared for in their previous home even though they had horrid names. We went to piggy clinic on Saturday so took them along. Tabitha is thought to be no more than a year old, Thumbelina is only about 3 or 4 months and has a heart murmur which it is hoped she will grow out of. If not, she is in the best place. Am still signed off with flu so is nice being at home with them at the moment.
