We have two new members of our little family. This morning I picked up two beautiful baby boars who are about 4 months old. I found out about them yesterday, the owner had discovered she was pregnant just after buying them and decided she no longer wanted to keep them. One of them is going to have the type of coat that is going to take a huge amount of work.
I had a sleepless night my head as usual over ruling my heart and telling me no. This morning my OH said he thought I should take them in, let my heart win. After more thought I decided I have the time and room for these boys and the experience of a long haired piggie and I really could give them a much deserved forever home.
So upstairs where they can settle in quietly are Patches a black and tan Aby and Willow an off white with ginger head patch, possibly Texel or Lunky? I've been going through the breeds but not sure maybe a mix. He's got curly whiskers and a very wavy semi long hair coat.
Will post photos next week when they are settled, they're very scared at the moment. These poor boys have been from breeder to shop to owner back to shop and now to me in their very short lives.

It's so hard to leave them alone, I so want a cuddle and know I must leave them to settle. Poor things are so nervous.

this heart over head thing is hard.... looking forward to seeing pictures x

Awwww xx I'm glad you took them in. I hope they settle in soon

I think they feel quite settled, sounds like a troupe of tap dancers wearing hob nailed boots upstairs at the moment. Zoomie time in a spring bottomed cage! They are eating and drinking well. So fingers crossed they get through the teenage hormones and remain friends.

The only real concern over taking them in was that I go to stay with my daughter every 4 - 6 weeks and my OH looks after the piggies. When I told him about them he said I should have them, I explained it didn't seem fair on him to have two more to look after. He's very happy to do it as long as he doesn't have to brush the long haired one. As I usually only go for 3 days and not more than 4 this won't be a problem.

Willow and Bracken have been here for nearly three weeks but it seeems like they have always been here, they have settled beautifully. They know the routine of the house and all the noises that might mean food! They are happy, confident, popcorning zoomers. These two are so different from Spike and Peanut who have taken over two years to start to really trust us especially Peanut. Willow has found his objection voice and now squeals when brushed as if I'm really hurting him. They had their first floor time today and they were off round and round the room. I took a grid out of the C & C and put a willow tunnel over the corex, they were climbing in and out the cage, so excited. I'm so pleased my OH persuaded me to have them. The strange thing is Peanut has gained in confidence since they arrived, he's never met them but he must be able to hear them. Timid 'I must always hide in a dark corner' Peanut now lies in the middle of the cage in the open and doesn't run for cover when we pass the cage.
