We have a little baby boar joining us tuesday
He is 7 weeks old and the most adorable little man I have ever seeeeeen!
We are having Sonics new cage delivered Monday evening and are off to collect 'Tails' Lol tuesday morning.
I have been reading lots and lots on how to introduce them and am hoping all goes well, Have particianed the run off for the introduction and have also requested that mr hutch make put me a removable dividing mesh in the new hutch.
So if needs be piggies can be separated and each have a 4x2 hutch with own sleeping area but still 'see' each other :) So excited cant wait to show him off :)

So the big question any tips on the introduction?

If you've done the reading up and feel confident, go for it. You have a back up plan so if it doesn't work, won't be a problem. Really can't advise you as all piggies have their own little personalities.
Only thing I would suggest is to keep the new one quarantined for a week or two, even if from a rescue just to be extra safe then put them next to each other so they can see, hear and communicate before meeting :)
We introduced four babies to our older established girls last month after a two week quarantine period and vet health check and I thought my heart would explode out of my chest, was sooo nervous. They hit it off immediately so now all live together :(|)
Keep us posted on your new boy :)p

Thanks for the advice,
New piggies has an appointment with the vets Wednesday Morning for a check up :)
I could have got him in on the way back Tuesday with a 'regular' vet but the lady who specialises in Guineas only works Weds and Fri's.
I am planning to keep them apart for the first few weeks then introduce them gradually.
Now should I replace the mesh divder with the board divider during the Quarentine period? Or put him in a seperate hutch alltogether?
Thanks for reading and I shall keep you all posted

I used a fine mesh divider so at least they can see and hear each other - find the larger C&C grids are a little too big for babies as they can get their tiny heads through if they wanted to :{ I have just put my new 'married' piggies next to my herd of girls after a weeks quarantine and check with a normal grid as they are much older and the little ones cannot fit through anymore - wonderful to see them chatting together. During the first week of quarantine, if you want to put them in separate pens, that is safer until the new one has been health checked then place them next door to each other with a mesh divider to let them get used to having a neighbour and potential playmate :))
