My partner, Me and the 3 big girls went boar dating today!
We went to greet ‘Newton’ but some other boys where there to choose from too if they didn’t take to Newton.
It was a long 2.30hr drive so I think the girls were a bit shell shocked when they got there and plonked in a strange place with a strange boy! Opal and Olive just hid in the corner for the first 30 mins while Newton humped them, Mary was happy to explore with Newton following her around. I did have a panic at first as I forgot to ask how long he had been neutered! And at first she was like ‘oh yes ermm must be 6 weeks, perhaps 5.. oh no must be more’ I had a mini heart attack but she re-assured me it was 6 weeks or longer, she will send me his neuter certificate and details etc if the trial goes well
She was a lovely lady, had her hands full with rabbits and guinea pigs. Wish I lived nearby so I could volunteer.
We did the bonding for about 1.5hrs and we saw nothing to worry about during that time. They shared salad and all was well so we’ve bought him home.
When we finally got back I put them all out on the floor as I had to clean out the cage so it was all fresh for Newton. Which was another 1 hour to get to know each other before they went in the cage. Again all was good even with a hidey box (with 3 exits). It’s pretty hot here today so I think everyone’s to hot and bothered to care lol.
Just put them away and so far so good, everyone is just chilling after their big day!
Not sure if we are going to keep his name as Newton yet..
