This week I will be adopting 2 older bonded boars from a local guy. They are 2 and 3 years old:

I don't know much all about them, except that they are a bonded pair :)

Lovely boys. I especially love the big round nose that always shows up well on a dark piggy. Maybe my imagination, but that cage does not look big enough?

What lovely boys x) Lilly beat me to it about the size of the cage :)
Boars need lots of space or could fight - minimum is 4ft x 2ft RSPCA guidelines but bigger is better. I have two sets of brothers and they have two storey hand built houses next to each other, each level is 6ft long so they have loads of space and have never bickered :))
My chunky hus/wifepig have a pen over 6ft in length with a small upper bedroom area as they both like their own space ;)

Aw thanks ") OH is brilliant at making stuff like this and we think they all deserve a bit of luxury :)) He's always messing around and modifying the pens for them - I never know what he's planning to do next :x ;)

Lol, I don't know their names yet, nor do I have them yet ;) I know the cage is small, not my preference at all. They will be living outside once I get the big cage built and it warms up outside, lol. Any suggestions on names? x)

Pipkin and Pickle? Caspar and Cosmo? Tigger and Roo? Pooh and Piglet? Sooty and Sweep? Hiccup and Hamish? Scooby and Boo? Ditto and Yo Yo? Rocket and Basil? Pigpog and Pigwig? Fudge and Liquorice? They're very handsome. x) x) x)

They are very sweet but gosh that cage is small - is looks like a hamster cage! Hope you can get them into a nice big cage soon and look forward to seeing more pics!

They are a lovely pair of boys!

If you can, hang onto the cage - hospital and/or spare cages always come in handy sooner or later.

Names: Bear and Badger?

Thanks all :) I'm thinking on names, but will likely be calling the black and white one Checkers x) He looks like a checker board to me xoxo The other boy, I am not sure yet ;) Almost all of my pets have people names, lol:

Cats - Majik, Bo, Lua, Baby, Oliver & Misha
Dog - Byron
Beardies - Walter & Norman
GP - Tommy
Mouse - Merlin

So, I need to come up with something unique and fitting for him, lol!

I always keep smaller cages on hand for hospital/travel/etc cages ;) I can't wait until I can get the big outdoor pen built!

So relieved to know they will be living with you in a nice big cage. And yes keeping the smaller cage is a good idea as can come in handy for other uses. Sorry, can't help you with names. I have never actually named any of my pets. For some reason they have arrived already named from rescues or the younger family members have insisted on naming duties. I'm curious though, if they are already a bonded pair and they are 2 & 3 years old, don't they have names already? Since piggies learn to know their names might be confusing for them to be re-named?

Well now the guy is telling me they won't come with their home...which means I can't have them. So, we will see. They seem to be doing a money grab (trying to sell the cage for a big amount, and free pigs to get "rid" of). So, we will see ?/

Oh no! Sounds like those boys need to be gotten away from an owner like that. Are they asking a lot for the cage? Maybe you can buy it & just keep the boys in it until you build them that nice big cage.

I have no extra money right now :( I just saw their ad for free pigs and thought I would talk to them. He promised the house with them, so they could go right away :( He said he'd figure something out (because I only have one smaller cage, and that has Tommy in it, so no point in trying to force bond 3, oy).

No you're right to not force bond 3 into yet an even smaller cage. Can't believe what they're doing and I can feel you're just devastated. Listen mate, how much is the bloody cage? I'm willing to buy it for you if there's some way I can get the money to you. I just don't want those boys left there when it looks like they're with bad owners.

I see you're in Canada. Lived in Toronto myself for quite a few years, Well $30CAD is not that bad with the Aussie dollar so high right now. Anyone you know out there who has a PayPal account? That would be the quickest and cheapest way for me to get the money to you. Or are there any Canadian members out there with PayPal accts who could then forward the money to Wynd's bank acct? Any other suggestions on how I could get the money to you? Doing an overseas bank transfer from OZ is not an option, the fees will be as much as the cage.

I do have a paypal that is connected to my bank, if that helps? Can I send you some handmade jewelry for it? :rose

Righto then, give me your PayPal account name. I would love your handmade jewellery but it would cost too much to post to Oz from Canada. Let's get those boys home to you!

I am still waiting to hear from the guy :) I emailed him and told him I would pay him for the cage, so I am hoping he will let me have them and their home :) Poor boys need out of there and soon, the kids who own them have "lost interest" so they are a bit neglected. Poor bubs :(

They've agreed! We're now just working on a time for them to be brought over (they will deliver, as I have no car). Thank you Lilly for helping these boys get to us! x)x>>x)x>>x)xoxoxoxoxoxo

What's that song "Oh happy day"! Great news. Keep us posted on the progress. I am happy I was able to help.

I am so excited! Hubby was the one saying "Well, maybe we don't need to get these pigs..." lol, the look on my face made him shut up (he's more grounded than I am, and I am the animal lover here, lol). I'm very happy to finally have an arrangement for them xoxo
