Here is the brand new cage setup. Buddy and lucy together seprated in middle with Chole on opisite side.. What do you all think about this as being a good way for lucy and Chole to get used to eachother before letting them all be together?

Yes Just have not got Fleece yet, Ran out of time, Getting it Tommorow though..

I have a similar set up, a 2X3 for my girlies and then a 2X2 section for my boy. The girls have a kitchen loft which is 1X2 and quite easy to install, ramp included.

Not a bad start!

Who's in the end bit? Is it a permanent home? If so id say it needs to be bigger

I plan on getting ramp later down road..

Chloe is by herself in the end.. Her and lucy got off to bad start so I am seperating them like you see in the pics so atleast they can smell and talk all day and cant fight.. Hoping they get used to eachother and then they can all be together with no divder.

How often do you clean out your cage? towels and fleece?

I am slightly neurotic about the cleanliness of the cage. I put three-four layers of grocery flyers on top of the coroplast, then polar fleece directly on top. The polar fleece is thicker than regular fleece, so I don't use towels for cushion or absorption. The cage gets swept of poos daily (sometimes twice) and I change out the papers and the fleece every third-fourth day. I have a litter pan with aspen shavings in it for my girls and they do most of their pees in there, and that is also emptied and rinsed daily. I am going to try the same trick with my boar, who pees twice as much as my girls combined and always in the same corner. His fleece I change every other day! *phew*

Some people vacuum the poos, and some just shake them out. I use a small broom and dustpan which I have become quite adept with. When I take the fleece out, I bundle it up, take it down to the laundry room and try to shake out as much debris as possible into my set tub (plug in and empty) then scoop that out before I launder them. I figure that way I am not clogging up my machine. Also, I do two rinse cycles and in between I use my hand and run it along the drum of the washer to get more furs out.

Wow. That's a lot of work, now that I've listed it all out lol! And totally worth it to have happy and healthy piggies!

I plan on extending my cage so that it is two separate 2X3 sections. My partition was a necessary thing as I discovered that my daughter's pig Hazel had man-bits, impregnated my sow and NEEDED to be separated (broke my heart into bits) It's good of you to make sure that they can still see and smell one another. Best of luck!

I'm hoping they can be one big happy family..

I would say that yes I think the end is a bit small for one so hopefully they will all get on. If not, the beauty with C&C is that you can make it bigger :)

They need some hay in there with them, might be an idea to get a rack to keep it off the fleece, or another tray so they can sit in it while they eat

Looks good though!

they have plenty of hay. those pics were before i added the hay. i had just put them in there.

If you made it a 6x2 then the one piggy on the end would have abit more room, other than that it looks lovely.

:)

Yeah, That will be the case, but this is temporary in hopes they can get along.. I want them all to be together and that is why there is a grids seperating them.. I need Lucy and Chole to get over the fighting and get along. They have been doing wayy better. LAst night they boy layed by eachother by the grids, it was cute, Just have to monitor and see how they go.. if they are together and they start to scuffle atleast being put back in seperate ends they are still close enough to see, touch, and smell...

Dont be sorry, its quite alright.. The bigger side is buddy and lucy (lucy is blind) Choloe is the new female

So thats three females? Sorry if I'm being dumb rolleyes

Lets hope that they once they have lived by the side of one another they will become more happy and relaxed so you can re-introduce them. But if not I'm sure they will be happy living side by side, or maybe you could get Chloe a friend and extend that area?

buddy is a neutered boar :)

Correct, 1 boy, 2 girls... Bth girls have been MUCH better now snapping or chattering or anything, in fact they have been laying by eachother by the grids.. just trying not to rush it.
