Hello, we recently put my son’s guinea pig, George, into a new cage. It’s bigger and has two levels. George is two years old. He is terrified of his new environment! What can we do to help him? I’m afraid he will stress so much that it could hurt him! Is this normal behavior? How long does it take for them to get used to a change?

Have you kept all of his same normal hides etc and any bedding that still smells of him as that can help him feel safer and realise the space is still his own?
try covering the cage for a few days and seeing if that helps him settle on.
ive added some guides below as going back to basics To settle him might help

Also, is he alone? Having another piggy to live with is so important to them as they are herd animals and arent wired to be by themselves.

do be aware that guinea pigs need their cage to meet size requirements on one level as they are ground roaming creatures and not natural climbers, and upper levels do not count towards the cage size. For two boars the cage needs to be a minimum of 150cm x 60cm but 180cm x 60cm is recommended.
