Hi all,
Well we done our order yesterday to make our own homemade cage for our girls, and it came today much to our surprise, (wasnt meant to arrive till middle nxt week), so now in middle of setting it all up, wanted to give them as much space as possible, looking forward to seeing them outta that shop bought cage and being free to run and play as much as they want in the one we make for them ☺ x

So 1st attempt, we incorperated some section of the cage at moment till we can get a top bit added for them.
Still need to get the plastic 4mm correx but comming soon.
Think they're quite pleased tho, we done it 3 x 6, for 3 girls. Hopefully big enough.

Your setup looks lovely and I'll bet your girls are loving it! :luv: However, sorry to say but the eight hole grids are on the list for not being recommended for piggies. They will be ok if your piggies are fully grown adult size but smaller piggies may get their head stuck in them, depending on how adventurous they are. I don't mean to be negative but just thought I'd make you aware x
Gorgeous piggies by the way :luv: where's me pignapping jacket...:bal:
:)) x

@Tim Is there some way a sticky could be made in the housing section about these 8 square grids? I commented yesterday on another members new setup as it also had these grids and if they really are not suitable, more people should be made aware.

Lovely setup you have there @MrsC2017 , lots of room for zoomies and popcorning! Just make sure the grids are safe :)

Hi @Tim & Eileen's Mum,

I just been to wickes this morning & got this to put round the inside to keep the girls safe, I didnt know about the grid size so am sorry for that, but hoping this will make it safer as only want the best for the fur babies,
Yes thats Fudge @Tim, shes a wee honey,
My daughter told me the cosy came from Amazon, she has a tunnel & another snuggle bed for them, will put picture up if you'd like to see it too and the details cost etc. Thank you again to both of you for your comments, only helps keep everyone safe. X

Perfect, I wouldn't have known that about the grids. Maybe you could put the correx further up the walls or something we did (we had an escape artist) is put some perplex on the grids. Just until they are a bit bigger. Mine would die for that cage. Lol

Hi @ Tiamolly123

Yeah I'm gonna try do that once I get the correx but for now I got fine gridwire to put round inside, its Sept wkend local holiday here so signmakers we had tried to contact yesterday are all closed till Tuesday , but heres hoping this does till then. X

I had the normal grids and still had to use wire like that to stop my little ones getting through! That wire should be fine :)

With the safety wire, I think that's a really great cage you've made for your girls  lots of nice space to play. Well done to you for upgrading them so quickly and for caring about their happiness so much. :D They're so cute and I bet they're having loads of fun!

Aww thank you so much thats so kind of u, they're doing their wee hidy thing again at moment but soon be out running about mad again in no time, I'm sure lol. Xx

Safety wire in place & a new bed space cube now aswell, (£5 from tesco), meant for cats but has 3 openings & we put a fleece inside for padding & warmth so should be good for them. Xx

Hi @Tim,

This is the cosy its Rosewood luxury plush bed £9.99 from Amazon.
They do a snuggles 2way hooded bed that our girls have reduced to £8.99 at moment and a reversable snuggle tunnel for £6.49.
But like @Betsy says if your good with a sewing machine probs cheaper to make it yourself. I'm hopeless so Amazon won it for us. X
