We extended the cage today in preparation for the arrival of two new lady pigs from Sophie.

First of all, this is the 2x4 for the new girls. 2x3 fleece space, and a 1x2 hay tray. Does it look okay Sophie? The arrangement of the toys is not the best use of space, I can sort it much better to give more room.

Frankie & Meghan's 2x4 in the middle. They never did use the 3x3 space they had, this should be a better size for them. Again, not the best arrangement of cage 'accessories' but they're happy with it at the moment. :)

And the group of six - Dexter, Gwen, Jasmine, Saffron, Bree & Willa - are in the 3x4. The 1x3 hay tray at the back makes a huge difference. They've been in a 3x4 for the past two months with no problems, they're a very close and pretty loving group.
If I can get the two pairs of pigs in one group, then these six will get a 4x4 and the four will get a 3x4.

And a couple of piggie pics. Frankie is getting his own thread as he hit supermodel standards this week. :))

I've showed it to girl 2 and girl 4 and they're really looking forward to moving to their new home! They've never seen fleece before, having lived in a big sow group in a free-range shed, so will be interesting to see what they think of it!

Can I move in too?! :))

:)) I'm glad Girl 2 & Girl 4 are looking forward to moving in. Tell them they will love fleece - and they will still get a huge pile of hay as well, best of both worlds! The hay trays were made 'specially so that more hay fits in and more piggies can pig out.

wow 5 stars lol you should start a piggie hotel, your piggies look so cosy in there little beds were can you get them ? xashx

Now that's a piggy room to not to die for, but to live in!

Those beautiful girls waiting to come are going to be so lucky - deservedly!

Thank you all. :)

My mum made the beds that Jasmine and Dexter are sleeping in. I have ones bought from the US, but most of the ones I have now are my mums creations. I tried making them myself but I just can't get my head round it, and I can't do a very neat job!

I have got some new fleece, but the teddy fleece is in very high demand and it doesn't often come on sale. When it does, it sells out very quickly. We've not seen any on eBay for a few months. For now, I have blue sheep and pastel jigsaw fleeces! The stuff they have at the moment works fine, it's just a little shrunk and has slits where the support grids used to be. It will be nice to get some fleece fitted in properly again.

I'll add a couple of pics later today when the new girls are all moved in. Thanks again for all your comments. :))

Great set-up. Wish I had the space for this! Your piggies are beautiful :)

It's all matching and lovely - I dropped the girls off yesterday and they couldn't believe their luck! :))

I have shop-bought fleece beds and they wash ok, although I had one from Pets at Home that didn't wash well, but it had stuffing in the cushion bit and they've pulled it out. Laura said her mum made these - she could go into business!

Amazing set up but I've got to ask - is that your main living room or do your piggies have a room all to themselves?

Very lucky piggies indeed!

What a great set up, good idea with the hay trays, I might give that a go. Shame the neglected piggie from Telford can't move in, his living conditions were appauling.

I'm majorly impressed and jealous!

I had a difficult time doing ONE 2X3 :))

got any pointers? :))

I can't stop thinking about your cages! I looked at them yesterday and had to have another look today :)) Can't wait for a big place in a few years time where I can have a piggie room like yours (who needs kids :)) ) May be difficult to convince my boyfriend paul to have lots of guineas instead of kids though! :))

It's actually my bedroom! Sophie can vouch for how little space I actually have in there, it's pretty much all piggie stuff. The cage is bigger than my bed, it takes up about half the room. Even the stuff that should be mine - bed, bookshelves - has stuff for the pigs on it. :)) I've given up thinking of it as my bedroom, it's the pigs room. I just happen to sleep in there!

My mum made the cosy beds/cuddlecups. They wash fine, I stick them in with the rest of the fleece on a 30 degree fast wash but they put up with any kind of wash! The pigs have had the teddy bear cosies since Christmas and they're still pretty much as new.

Some new pics of the new fleecies! The first one (blue sheep) is what the pigs were on hen Sophie brought the girls on Monday:

This is what is in now, pastel jigsaw:

I'm tempted to get another set, just so I've got three sets of brand new fleece. I could live with two, and use the old ones as well, but in the interests of total organisation and perfection... :))

Fantastic! You lucking girl having piggies in your bedroom! By far the best set up that I have seen. Well done! In my next life I want to be one of your piggies!
