I think my pigs LOVE the fleece. Whenever they get a new or newly cleaned fleece liner or furniture in their cage they popcorn over it like crazy. Even if it's just a small liner for a corner they poo in.
It is better all round...although I don't know if my washing machine agrees! I really like Vet Fleece, which is very thick, and when I first put Clove on it, she moved her front feet up and down on it. Polar fleece is easier to use, not as thick and bouncy, but still better than other bedding I've tried.
How can you tell which fleece you are buying? I'm currently using paper bedding and really want to start making my on liners but no sure on the right fleece to get. I've heard so many different things. I understand uhaul matteral is the best for the absorbent layer. Also I am need to the Guinea pig world but have done tons of research on food and cages and my girls have a 2x5 c&c cage now. I really enjoy this forum. It's such a blessing.
I thought that uhaul was good too but didnt realise that in America it is made of recycled denhim (how do you spell that)? and over here removal blankets are a kind of grey fluffy stuff that do not absorb well. Mine have been very useful dog bedding though.
Polar fleece is the cheap stuff and is less soft and fluffy than the other fleece.
Until we get a chance to get some decent fleece blankets we are using ones from B&M £3.99 for a pack of two. They work well just not very thick so its padded out with towels and old duvet covers as the bottom layer. With the all important puppy pads.
