I have finally got some fleece to try as bedding!
I'm a bit paranoid as I've read it can harbour dangerous bacteria and my vet said she would advise against it incase they eat it! Has anyone ever known this?
Anyway they look posh in there tonight! They have a pile of hay and back to nature under their bed in case anyone was wondering, they like it like that:luv:

That looks fab ! as long as you wash fleece at 60 degrees it will be free from bacteria, viruses, and fungal spores.sweep poops each day ! lovely piggies.

It looks wonderful - do the piggies like it?
And as a microbiologist I would love to know what 'dangerous bacteria' fleece can harbour.
Naturally many bacteria will grow in a warm and wet environment, but as long as you wash the fleece at 40 degrees ad keep the cage fairly clean then you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
So sit back and enjoy the pretty cage!

Looks really posh!
I use fleece all the time and agree with @Swissgreys that as long as you wash it regularly it keeps them warm and cosy!

That's good to know! Ted doesn't need anymore excuses to visit the vet! Bruno got very silly on it and kept jumping on and off the roof of their bed! Ted made him calm down tho :shh:

it looks great! i recently switched to fleece and I'm loving it so far. So much easier to clean and way cheaper than buying paper bedding.

I would only suggest to make their cage a little bigger if you could :) so that way they have more space to run around!

Their cage is currently a work in progress, when I got it it was bigger and had an upstairs but no bottom, I wasn't even sure they would stay in there at the time but they do spend most of the day out and about with a free run of the house. They don't like too much change in one go so we just slowly change little bits every now and then :tu:

Looks great. I also get funny comments from so called 'experts' when they find out I keep mine on fleece. I know my girls are happy and healthy so I ignore the ignorant comments :D
