I've just read in a post that Gery guinea pig isnt that good? My piggy eats it now I'm worred (even more so!) So could someone recomend some good food for my little guy?
I used to feed mine on Gerty guinea pig but found they were leaving quite a lot of it. Burgess Supa Excel is meant to be very good for them as it's a pellet food and stops selective feeding but I bought it and none of mine would eat it so they are now on Wagg guinea pig crunch although they don't seem keen on that either or Tesco guinea pig food in the purple bag which is a muesli type of food like guinea pig crunch.
Mine are fed with a mix of (mostly) super excel and (a bit of)Tesco purple bag meusli. Started buying the tesco one after reading reviews on here, and they love it. Not so selective as they were with other muesli's.
I feed mine on Super Excel mixed with Wagg Guinea Pig Crunch, they seem to love it.
Originally Spike was fed on just Super Excel, he'd been eating it all his life and suddenly seemed to get bored of it, it took him about a week to eat a bowl. When we got our other piggie, Chewie he was fed on Wagg Guinea Pig Crunch and came with a huge packet full. Mixing that in with Super Excel seemed to do the trick and I now have to top their bowls up at least twice a day.
Thanks Guys I'll give them a go! The Petshop I work in is just a little local one and not very fancy like say Pets at home so theres not much variety. I will make the trip tho![]()
