It seems that the pet shop I use is no longer stocking the selective science food that I feed my two guinea pigs on. As per my other thread I won't be using Pet's at home again so I am limited as to where I get my food from.

I notice Asda sell wagg pellets and as it is a fraction of the cost of the selective science was thinking of switching them to this as I am coming to the end of my supply of current food.

One of the girls has suffered with bloat in the past so I am wary of switching food quickly. Should I mix it for a few days and see how they get on? Or should I do it over a longer period?

Also, I am hopeful of picking up my new addition this week and I suspect that he will have been given cheapest pets at home food. As he will be very frightened should I be looking to buy a small bag of food that he is on now or do you think he will be ok to switch straight to wagg?

Thanks in advance

Any transitions from food should be done slowly, by gradually reducing their current feed and increasing the new. The Range sell selective science, might be worth a look in there. Wagg (harringtons) optimum is very popular and as you have noticed fairly cheap, often in offer in Asda.

I think you could talk P@H into supplying a small bag of the newbies current feed considering everything :))

Firstly, I am of the opinion that pggies don't need dried food or pellets but that's my own opinion on diet etc.

I do still give pellets and veg as treats however. If you go on the supreme science website, they have a list of stockists up there. It turned out for us that our nearest stockist is our vet!
