Adult Guinea Pig
A new rescue guinea has moved in tonight - Artie from Walsall RSPCA.
Artie is very elderly and will be here for his retirement stay with me on a long term foster care type set up. He will live a quiet life in my bedroom and if his dental issues continue my vet in the village is really good at looking at and trimming teeth without sedation.
It is felt he is older than the suggestd 5 years the vets mentioned - could be a lot older, he is a beautiful boy, very quiet and sleeps a lot!
Whilst I'm at work or if I'm out Mum will be keeping a close eye on him.
Just seemed right to look after Artie, after losing Freddie I had the space and have had experience with elderly guineas and Monty in the past, who was a thinner piggy with dental issues.
Few photos of Artie:
