Hello everyone!

So it has been 6 days since I first bought my Cersei <<<

At the beginning she was fine, always staying still when being picked up and happy to cuddle me.

A few days ago, she started to run away when being picked up (which I realise, is normal) but she also 'popcorns' and tries to snap at me when I try to pick her up while making angry noises. When I eventually hold her, she tries to get away from me even though I give her food etc.

I made her a snuggle-sack today, but she won't even run into that when I try to pick her up, LOL. It's like she knows my plans.

However, in her cage/after 10 minutes of being held she happily eats out of my hands and loves being stroked (particularly under the chin) which suggests she must like/trust me enough.

Mixed signals! Argh! What do you lovely people suggest I do? Should I leave her for a few days? I don't want to get her into bad habits.

Thank you ;)

Hi there. Welcome to the forum.

Cersei would really benefit from a friend. Guinea pigs are social animals and get lonely living alone no matter how much time we spend with them. A friend will also make her more confident. Her behaviour sounds perfectly normal to me. As prey animals, guinea pigs are timid and will run away from humans.

Have a read of this thread for help settling her in,

Hello and welcome to the forum! I agree with the above, freinds are detrimental to piggies :)
