New Guinea Pig Owner! Tips?

Hello Everybody!

I've wanted Guinea pigs for YEARS! I volunteer at a local petting farm, and a family who's child they bought the piggies for lost interest for them. I've taken them under my wing!

They're very skittish as I imagine any animal moved into a new environment would be. Any tips on how to tame them?

What are some favourite treats of piggies? What do they love? And similar to dogs, do they have that one spot you can scratch and they'll love you forever? Lol.

Also, I would appreciate some name suggestions! Or even he story behind how you named yours! Any anecdote you'd like to share with me I'd love. Glad to be apart of this community.

I didn't get a say in naming mine as my 8 year old daughter took the reins, so we ended up with a Rosie and a Rachel! What little cuties you have!

Those are adorable names! I took the similar letter idea and think I'm going to go with Peaches for the ginger one and Paloma for the long haired! Glad I finally settled on names!

Gorgeous piggies. Many of my piggies have kept their rescue names (if they have proper human style names). Three of my current 4 didn't have though so I had to rename them. I already had Daisy so decided to keep a nature theme and added Willow and Lily. I also have a neutered boar who is called Donald after a certain president because his long flowing locks look like said persons hairpiece
