Hello all!
I am adopting a 6 week old guinea pig tomorrow! I will have to drive 2 hours with the piggie it get to my house from the exchange point.

the guinea pig is a abynessian guinea pig. I am simply looking for any advice that may come in handy with anything including travel, and bonding my current guinea pig with the new one, etc.

Please have a read of the threads I’m linking below. Seeing as the new pig is so young you skip quarantine as their need for guidance is more important than quarantining in case of illness. Make sure you place the carrier somewhere where it won’t move around and distract you as you drive.

Good luck with the drive tomorrow and do let us have a photo once piggy is home and settled in. Another small thing, once you’ve moved them into the (thoroughly cleaned out and rearranged) cage, put in some hides that only he can get into.

How do I place hides that only he can get into?

Just make them small so your other piggy can’t get in. I can’t remember how old he is.
 
5 weeks is the age of the new one . And 9 months for the current one
 
He is gorgeous! :wub: Have you bonded them yet?
