I have one guinea pig named dominoe and he was alone so I got him a new friend but a whole day has went by and he hasn't drank or ate anything he just sits in the corner and squeaks. He's very jumpy I've tried feeding him everything and anything they eat and he won't even sniff it he just stays still. I don't want him to starve himself or get dehydrated.... is this normal for a new pig?

Your new piggy is scared and frightened and is running on prey instincts at the mo. Try making him feel safer by covering your cage with a fleece or towel. He will probably come out to eat and drink when everything is quiet and nobody is around. It takes a while for piggies to feel safe in a new environment. Put yourself where he is.......he has come from somehwere he was just getting used to to somewhere he doesn't know with strange smells and a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE hooman with hands as big as he is. No wonder the poor boy is scared. He doesn't know you don't want to eat him! You have to teach him that. Piggies go from day to day trying to stay alive and not getting eaten. I know if I was a prey animal in the same situation I would be terrified. With love and patience and food bribes he will soon learn that you mean him no harm.

Settling In And Making Friends With Guinea Pigs - A Guide

The piggy whispering guides in the link I have given you are particularly good. Don't worry about feeling stupid while doing them - you are just talking piggy to your piggy in a language he understands. If nobody is around to see you apart from your piggy, does it really matter?
