Following the loss of Binky, I had been enquiring at the local (and further afield) rescues for a new friend for Kanga. No guinea pigs in any local rescues at all, and none nearer than a 2/3 hour drive. With fuel being so pricey, and sometimes hard to find, that was not a practical option. So I asked around of my facebook friends, if anyone knew of any piggies that might like a new home, and here is the result.
She is about 18 months old, and I have not got a new name for her yet, we are still trying to decide what it should be. I have not yet introduced her to Kanga, we are taking it all very slowly but she quite likes a cuddle and she loves her food :)

Introductions will have to wait a while as new piggy has some little passengers.
We have got Xeno from the vet and she has had one treatment already. I will be doing two more at 2 week intervals. I have been careful about handling her - I have an overshirt and an apron which will cope with a 60 degree wash, which I wear when I am handling her. The good news is, she is very healthy otherwise.

I've not had to deal with lice before now. I am going to get some Lice & Easy shampoo from Gorgeous Guineas, as a belt & braces effort. Hopefully the first lot of Xeno will have killed off the current critters so she will be feeling less itchy already.

And her new name is Fifi Fluffybottom. I have registered her as this at the vet and this is what is printed on her pack of Xeno :)
Another pic of Fifi, this time nestled in the giant pocket on the apron, she likes sitting in there as she feels safe.3.webp

Hello Fifi Fluffybottom, hope you get rid of those nasty passengers soon, then you can meet a new friend x

Hiya Fifi! You have a very fluffy bum! Your new slave has named you very aptly. Pleased that she has your new cheeky itchy travellers sorted! Hope you like your new friend Kanga.
