Hi All, Well I went to Dolittles and came back with not 1 but 2 guinea pigs called Pip and Squeak (pics to follow soon as I get some).

Anyway I have no clue what to do now as with Herbie it was different as I just found him and he got used to me.

But with Pip and Squeak I dont know if i should just leave them in their house and get used to smells and such or should i start to handle them while they are new.

Also how and when should I introduce Herbie to them as he is already sniffing around their cage and nibbling it and standing up the bars trying to see them.

Please help as any suggestions would be great as i have no clue what i am doing now.

Thanks

A very confused but happy Sarah x

Hi Sarah,

I would just let them get used to their surroundings for now. Not sure on when you should introduce him, perhaps in a couple to three weeks after quarantine. Hopefully someone who has done that can offer better advice.

Can't wait to see the pics!

Congratulations! Are they babies? I would leave them to settle overnight but do talk to them etc You may find they dont seem to eat while you are around at first but they will overnight. Tomorrow, get them out and give them a good check over for any skin problems etc. Are they 2 boars? Bonding them with Herbie may be tricky as he has been on his own all this time but it could work. Have a look at www.barmy4boars.co.uk for good advice on bonding boars. Do keep them seperate from Herbie for a couple of wheeks to make sure they are healthy

Hi, Yes they are 6 week old boars and I shall keep them in quarantine but is it ok if they are still in the same room but in different cages?

Pics will be on as soon as they are brave enough to speak to me lol
