Hi,
I got 2 guinea pigs (about 6-8weeks old) about a week ago. So far, they've refused to eat the veggies i've given them apart from carrots and the odd bit of grass. I've tried broccoli, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and lamb's lettuce.
They get plenty of hay and guinea pig pellets from petsathome. And they do seem to gnaw at the alfafa hay blocks i've given them.

Is there any greens that contains lots of vit C that i can try to entice them to start eating greens. I'm going to try parsley and pea shoots when i get hold of some later today or in the week.

I used to keep guinea pigs when i was younger and they pretty much ate everything i gave them (apart from carrots). I know it's still pretty early days but they jsut seem to ignore all the food i give them. (last week, i though one of them was unwell and not eating so wanted to give as much vit C as possible but she seems to be better now).
Any advice much appreciated.

Hi there, I feed mine Spring Greens (50p at mo in Asda:) they love it!

hi i had a young piggy who wouldnt eat veg for nearly 2 weeks. keep trying different veggies they will start eating, until then as long as they are eating nuggets i wouldnt worry too much about the vitamin c.

have a look in the food section for a list of safe foods for them :)

they don't seem to be interested in grass either, they had a little nibble and left the rest and when they were out in the run, i didn't see them eat too much grass or dandelion either, and there are lots of it in my garden.
I'll just have to work my way down the list in the food section.
