Hello!
I'm looking into getting two piggies and have done so much research as well as reading nearly every thread on here!

Where would be best to get them from? Not sure to buy from somewhere like Pets At Home..adopt from rescue centre (cant find one near me!), gumtree, private seller (cant know for sure the background etc) preloved etc..ideally want healthy and happy piggies and dont want to contribute tp any spet of piggie breeding farm etc so would appreciate tips x

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
:wel:

It is wonderful that you are considering your options before you go out and get your piggies.

I am sure members will have more specific advice to help you find the perfect piggies if you are able to give us a rough idea of your location.
We have members from all over the world.

There is an RSPCA rescue at Burford which isn’t too far from Newbury.
I’m not far from you in Marlborough.
Welcome to the forum
It’s a sign of a caring and responsible owner that you are doing so much research and thoughtful planning ahead.
Looking forward to hearing more when you get your piggies- and seeing pictures

Thankyou I'll take a look at these rescue centres.

On another note, what can i get to go in their hutch? What would keep them entertained? Whats the best bedding?

This is a good place to start if you are looking for information about housing:

If you are planning to keep them outside you need to be able to offer them a sheltered place that will be protected from extreme temperatures both in Summer and Winter.
Guinea pigs are not very hardy, and require a lot of help to be comfortable outside year round.
If you do opt for an outdoor hutch you need to make sure it is well built and also factor in hutch covers, additional insulation, and snuggle safe heat pads for Winter.

Guinea pigs are easily pleased by simple things like paper bags filled with hay, cardboard boxes with extra exits cut as well as tunnels and fleeces

Old toilet roll tubes filled with hay make for great toys too. You can buy bendy log bridges that can be used to form tunnels, and seagrass tunnels as well.
