New Guinea pigs

Welcome to the forum

Best thing is to just leave them alone for the first week - cover their cage with a sheet and just feed, water and spot clean.
Second week - start sitting by their cage and talking to them, offering food from your hand (which they may or may not take).
Really you just have to go at their pace and do what they are comfortable with - some like interaction, others grow to like it and some don’t want human interaction.

New Guinea Pigs: How to Best Manage Arrival and Settling In

Hello and welcome to the forum. Can’t wait to see pictures of them when they are all settled in.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new family members.
Time and patience and food are best.
I used to sit and talk gently with new piggies.
It doesn’t matter what you say, I discussed the news, current affairs the weather and anything else I could think of.
My current pair had the benefit of me reading them children’s stories in German to help me brush up my language skills ( ? )
