Oh my goodness! I just picked up a bag of the Oxbow Orchard Grass for the pigs and they LOVE IT! They're over the moon right now! It was on sale for $7.99 for the 40 oz bag which is PRETTY AWESOME considering the only reason I don't usually buy it is because it's stupid expensive and when I buy my hay I like to buy for the rabbit as well (who, being 12 pounds, eats a considerable amount of hay monthly). It's SOOOOO soft! I've been buying a massive bag of timothy hay for them but I haven't been overly fond of it because it's almost as chunky as straw and that's no good for the piggies, so I was always pulling out the big thick bits and feeding that to the rabbit... Now, since the Oxbow bag of this size usually costs $16.99 which is the biggest rip off ever and it never seems to go on sale (until today lol) , I went out and bought a bale of grass hay last week which is also a lot softer than the timothy I've been feeding them. I't hasn't been bagged which is always a little sketchy in the case of mites but I have been pulling it from the freezer and I haven't seen any mites yet! Why have I never bought this wonderful grass hay before? lol!

I love oxbow hays, but with so many piggies myself its not finacially feesable for me to feed it to them all the time. Did you know they actually sterilise the hay?

My lot have 10kg hay bales straight from the fields. I havent had any mite issues so far.

Yeah, that's one of the things I was most happy about with their hays but they are so stupidly priced, especially when I can get a square bale for $8.00 that will last me for 5 months lol! My rabbit got mites but I'm convinced it was from the straw I used to use as bedding. So, we're sticking to baled hay from now on!

We are lucky enough to live close to a farm. We buy our piggies a bale for £3 which converts to about $5.43

No mites so far luckily.

Can't beat a good piggy bargain!
