Well, I couldn't resist this cat hidey in Home Bargains-£4.99! It is huge! And looks particularly huge as the Floofs are still young. I put them in their extended run and watched what they would do. Very interested in the new hidey and it didn't take long for them to go in and explore. image.webp

But, after a few minutes, they go back to their favourite spot. Can you guess where they are?

I think the cat hidey is pretty much the same size as a C&C square. I am dreaming of making a bigger cage for my babies as they are growing so fast. It would perhaps make a nice bed on a loft?

I have these, no complaints from my boys so far! :D

I need to find a B & M, love that hidey, was going to make one but at that price not worth getting the machine out.

i know ! I can make stuff on my sewing machine but can't figure out how to make something that will stand up like this !

I've been thinking about this too. I have been looking at getting polyester wadding and stitching it between two layers of fleece - I think that's how they make it stand up. At £4.99 this would be a lot cheaper than making it yourself, the wadding was a minimum purchase of a half metre.

I bought some wadding and fleece with making things in mind but, you are right, at this price it's not worth it! I do have plans to make some snuggle bags- I even got round to cutting them out but haven't got out my sewing machine yet. What sort of things are most popular with the piggies? I was going to make one like a paper bag. Is that best?

Mine like all sorts of things, I change the cage around frequently they like something different to explore. I've made one out of double fleece in a tube, I can fold the ends over to make it stay open a bit, they sometimes snuggle in it and sometimes run through and sometimes just squash it flat and go to sleep sitting on it. A bag shape would be good they could snuggle in it or on it, I left mine open at both ends because they are both going through the hormonal teen stage at the moment and I like easy escape routes just in case. This one would definitely have been better with wadding to make it stiffer.

I've seen these in home bargains too! And have been very tempted to get some. But the girls have so much stuff already that there is a mound on top of their cage and underneath isn't much better, which is overflow from their chest of draws.
Their taking over!:yahoo: Which I'm fine with but everyone else are just having to put up with:)) he he!

Mine love fleece tunnels, snuggle sacks and hammocks. From the point of view of making your own, the way I look at it you are paying for the enjoyment of making it as we'll as the fun the piggies get from what you make. So I think it's worth it!:)

Bet they love it!

Gorgeous piggies, thanks so much for sharing!

Love the floof name by the way! Beautiful piggles

:D I have four of the round fleecy hides from Pet Warehouse. I have cut a piece of tough plastic (mine was a large sheet used to hold plastic bags open) into circles, 10" diameter, to fit inside and put Zorb and fleece on top of that. It saves the bottom of the hide from getting soaked with wee. You could do similar with the square hides. :tu:
