Hello,
This is my first time posting and I wish it was under better circumstances.
One of my guinea pigs Pepe has a lump that's developed.
It's on his belly on the right but far back and up slightly near his back leg.
Unfortunately as I've been away I don't know how long it's been there as my parents who took care of him don't do daily checks like I do.
I've got a vets appointment Friday but I know I'm going to be up at night not able to sleep in the meantime worrying.
I've tried my best to take a good look at it.
He has no problem with me touching it and isn't showing any signs of discomfort.
There's also no behavioural changes or any change to the dynamic between him and his brother Emile, or any change to his appetite.
The lump itself is positioned on his belly but just up from where his back right leg is.
It's the size of 1/2 pinky finger nail.
No hair appears to be growing on it.
When I touch it, it appears to move slightly rather than be firm in one place.
Please if anyone has had anything similar before, what was the outcome for you? Is there anything I can do in the meantime to help before his appointment?
I feel so helpless right now. Him and his brother are inseparable, especially since their other brother Nugget died.
They're only 2.5 years old and were the runts of their litter that I rescued as babies as no one wanted them.
Pepe's not had the easiest life - one of his ears was chewed off & one of his eyes badly bitten before I rescued him so I can't stand the thought of him being put through anymore pain or discomfort.
I don't want to give him painkillers unnecessarily but pets are so good at trying to hide pain that I'm not sure if I should give him calpol in the meantime before his appointment Friday?
I'm just really worried about him, especially if it's anything serious as Emile will be left on his own.
Praying someone has some positive news!

I’m sorry Pepe has a lump. It’s good that he’s in good health overall and not showing any signs of illness or being uncomfortable. Here is our guide to lumps

I hope it helps. Good luck at the vets. I hope it’s something easily treatable.
