I'm new to this Forum my guinea pig back legs arnt working properly and ive been readin the questions and answers and they say Osteocare meant to help how much do I give my pig. Thanks

Yes, you probably need a real diagnosis first before prescribing things to her. It could be arthritis as Jaycey says but it could be something else, either way before medicating a vet would need to examine.

Definitely double check with a vet first before you self medicate!
Good luck to you and your piggie! :)

We're not vets and so not able to give you a dosage of Osteocare even if we were happy for you to self medicate @Annabel Edwards .

There are many different causes for leg paralysis, which only a vet can diagnose. Please take your pig to the vet, it could be in pain.

My Guinea Pig is not in pain he"s eating very well. No point taking him to the vet all they will say put him down no way will I do that.

@Annabel Edwards You can't just assume a vets response. A good vet won't want to euthanise him. I had a pig with leg paralysis and we worked with the vet to help him and he recovered.

You also can't assume he's not in pain. They are prey animals and so mask many illnesses or symptoms.

If you're not going to listen to our advice and dose him with Osteocare anyway you're either going to have to guess a dose yourself or contact a vet for the dose.

Surely it's worth asking the vet? They won't do anything without your permission anyway!

Please, please take him to a vet! As @Jaycey says guineas are prey animals, so hide signs of illness and pain to avoid appearing the easy, weak choice for predators. By the time they begin to exhibit pain symptoms it's usually too late :(
If he's not showing signs of pain (yet) it's not likely to be arthritis which is very painful, therefore Osteocare wouldn't be the right choice. It could be a stroke or spinal injury!
Dragging of the back half can cause sores and 'carpet burn' so make sure he is on fleece or VetBed, and ensure he is kept clean of his own poo and wee xx

100% go to a vet. If you don't want to lose your piggie, it's best to get them checked xx
