Hi my name is Jamie
I have 2 guinea pigs Peanut and Piglet...Piglet is 2 and Peanut (1-2) I got Piglet from my moms friend and Peanut I adopted from Petco.

I have a couple of questions

I have both girls in 2 different store bought cages ( the ones they came with) I want to get them a C&C cage but I am worried about putting them in both the same cage, whitch is my goal. When I put them in the play pen Peanut will squirt out urine and Piglet will make nosies...When I get a C&C should I try putting them together or am I better off just getting 2 seprate cages or getting 1 cage with a divider...Or if you have any advice on how they can get along better please let me know. Thanks

Hi!

Here are tips on how to stage introductions. Are your girls living next to each other? Please be aware that introductions follow a strict protocol; every time you separate, you disrupt your girls working out a bond.
It takes strong nerves for a newbie to just sit by and let them get on with it. Guinea pig functions in a very hierarchical complex society. Dominance needs to be established. Unlike humans, guinea pigs cannot get by with just a hint, they need to spell everything in capitals. That looks like bullying and meanness to us. Please keep in mind that unlike you, piggies know exactly what is going on. Towards the end of the bonding process, the underpiggy get its say as to how far it allow itself to be pushed.
Loud screaming mean actually submission/"don't hurt me" and not real pain.

here is a list of behaviour listing behaviours in ascending order of agressive dominance behaviour. Anything mild to medium is OK; a bonding doesn't work if the girls refuse to interact or if there is lunging/fights etc. http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=28949
