i’ve had my guinea pig for quite a while, and ive just found this website and i was wondering if anyone knew what this meant.
i got back home and stroked her while she was in her hay corner, i stroked her and she made a purr noise, i dont know if it was a good noise or bad.
then she leaned to her side and let me touch her, she was munching on hay at the same time, and her back leg was up in the air (just a tiny bit)

does this means he was relaxed?
 
Hello and welcome to the forum. I’d say she was probably happy. I think they can make the purring sound if they are happy or scared. You have to work out in what context it was made. So as she was munching on hay I’d say she was happy 😃

The body language is very relaxed so it is most likely the kind of purring that is similar to cat purring.

The problem is that there are several noises that are sounding to us humans quite similar but can have very different meanings. When interpreting guinea pig sounds, you have to always take body language and situational context into account; it is much more complex than most people assume. Hence why you struggle to find any decent guides or reliable information on guinea pig communication.

Welcome! Sounds like a relaxed happy piggie. My Lily often gets so ahead of herself, she starts purring and stretching before I even get to pet her.
