We just got our first Guinea Pig and I noticed these white or clear bugs on him. I haven't seen him scratching but am not sure what to do. Also after reading around I am starting to wonder if something is not wrong with him. He doesn't seem to "play". While in cage he stays in his house only coming out to eat or drink. He will let you hold him but doesn't seem to want to move around even when let out in a room. We have had him for about two weeks and are new to this so any info would be great!

Sounds like he has lice to be honest he will need a special medicated shampoo to get rid of them try gorgeous guineas for a homeopathic option lice and easy.
He might be more playful once he has got rid of his little guests.

Welcome to the forum Zeek, I have to agree with Vikki and Wiebke and say that it sound exactly like lice. They tend to look like small grains of rice, most commonly white, brown or black in colour.

Are you in UK? Gorgeous Guineas do ship worldwide, but treatment options for lice can vary in different countries.

I find peter gurneys web site to be very helpful, i had the same problem a few years ago its nothing to worry about.

It could be your piggy is just nervous or lonley, maybe consider a cage mate and handle a little more.
