I have 2 new piggies that have been with me since Thursday. They are 8 months old. One is super friendly, interested in everything and doesn't run when we pick her up. The other barely comes out of her house, runs away when trying to pick her up and I have noticed seems to be losing alot of hair (compared to the friendly one) - is this a symptom of stress? We are picking her up less than the other one and trying to be as hands off as possible but if it is stress is there anything else we can do to give her an easier time?

Check her thoroughly for any signs of parasitic activity, because the irritation can make them nervy and unwilling to be handled.

Have a look for dandruff, scabs or sores, flaky skin. You say the hair is coming out,at this time of year it could be moult, but it could also be parasitic. Is the hair coming out in clumps or just loose?.

Check her weight because parasites can cause weight loss.

It is unlikely that stress would cause hair loss.

Thanks. The hair is just coming loose and she's not scratching nor can can I see any scabs or flakey skin. I've only had a her a few days so not sure what she weighed before but she's not loosing any. I guess it's just moulting? The other one doesn't seem to be though - but she has a funny fuzzy coat.
