Hi!
Yesterday I bought my gorgeous piggies home. The owner told me one of pigs had been bit on his ear by an older pig she owns that day. Since this he hasn't drank and is very still. He has had a munch on some carrot too. His ear is scabby and tonight he has been very unsettled and making noises but pretty high pitched. Is he hurt?

I think you should take him to the vets. He will probably need some painkiller & possibly antibiotics. Only the vet can give him the treatment he deserves. If you haven't got a good guinea pig vet then please check on the Vet Locator at top of page. If there isn't a vet neat you, please check on the rescue locator & get in touch with a local rescue who can point you to a suitable vet. If those 2 fail then please give your general location eg London or Manchester & someone on here who lives in your area maybe able to give good local vet. Hope he's OK soon.

Hi!

If I were you, I'd have his ear and general health checked by a vet.

Please get him a character compatible friend once he is well and has got his bearings. The wheeking is probably from being lonely and calling for his mate. In Britain, we have got a list of good standard rescues that offer to bond single piggies; like our list of piggy savvy UK vets, you can find it on the top bar. Please don't just go and get another piggy; it can lead to yet another fight like the one he's just been through.
