New piggie, Corey

I just had a fantastic break through with Corey. The old owners said he's never come to the cage bars for food and won't eat from your hand.

Just now I went upstairs with some carrot, held it to the bars for about a minute or 2 and he snuck over. I talked to him nonstop and he took the piece from my hand. He quickly ran back in but i held another piece up. He snuck over and took another piece from my hand. This time he didn't run back and just kept eating pieces from my hand.

I'm very very proud of him :D

I think with some love and care he'll be tame in no time.
 
Haha he is. He likes to nibble a bit out of curiousity but doesn't actually bite. :)

That was quick! Seems like he is really loving his new home. Saw the video too, what a gorgeous little fluffball.

Just because he's not rescue doesn't matter, who's to say he woudn't be a future rescue. I think if there's love and care nothing else should matter. I understand and agree with all the arguements against for sale vs rescue are there are so many needing homes but in the end they are all alive and need care and love xx

It was! He's still quite skitty occasionally when you walk in the cage but he looks confused on if he should be scared or not. 70% of the time he runs but the other 30 he sits and watches you curiously wondering if he should run. He does these funny little movements back and forth as though hes not sure if he should or not bless him.

Yes thats very true. I'm just glad I know I have him with the horrible stories I hear from gumtree. I'd hate for that to happen to him. He's so darling.

They truly are! They are my favourite human eye colour so to see to my surprise that he had blue also was shocking and beautiful.
 
Very cute, i hope he mixes with Romano!
I had a piggy with the bluest bluest eyes once. I now have one with a blue/grey and the same red/brown/purple as Corey and another with just those odd red/purple/brown eyes. I'm pretty sure it's to do with Roan coats. Both of mine with these odd eyes are roan's in some way and i can see a little roaning on Corey's bum! It also happens with Roan hamsters.

Ohh! I wondered about the roan as I saw he had some grey like streets on his bum a bit. How interesting.

I really hope it works out. I've fallen for him so much. It'll be so hard if it doesn't work out. xD;;

Thanks hun. I really hope so! He's gotten into shouting at me now so I take that as another good step! :D

I really hope they do work out. I can't quite tell what his personality is yet as hes still so nervous. Just hope hes submissive or willing to submit if Romano wants to be dom.
 
Will do.

I've been watching him and he seems 'very' itchy so I'm going to take him to the vets and if its the buggies that are under the skin get the vet to sort it out. If its the one in his fur I already have the treatment from when Romano has that so hopefully I can fix it all up and Ro can try his new friend.
