Went to the Wheek and Squeak adoption centre today to see Anna and all of her beautiful guinea-pigs! Took little Wilma along with us who bless her, was absolutely terrified. We had a look at 4 little pigs who were about a year old and had all been the result of some very badly controlled breeding.
Apparently their mothers were found along with about a hundred other guinea pigs in a shed all running around (boars and sows together!). How anyone can be so over their head is beyond me! All of the sows were pregnant due to this, but luckily Anna and a few other adoption centres managed to seperate out the piggies between them and save them all :) lovely ;)

The little piggie we are adoptiong (arriving next friday) is a crested cream, agouti and white short haired pig and is gorgeous! We put her together with Wilma who literlaly just sat there solid as a rock for about half an hour as she was so jumpy and scared aww. But there was no aggression and the other little piggie was quite inquisitive and seemed to like her

So fingers crossed!

I'll upload some piccies when she arrives! By the way..... We're naming her Willow x)

Aww glad you managed to get along today and find a new friend for Wilma, fingers crossed they are a match made in heaven

me too! friday couldn't come sooner, very exciting! and this means more shopping to be done in the way of little huts, igloos and tunnels!

Yeah! Excellent news. I think I know the rescue Anna's talking about, it was the Lymington rescue, lots of beautiful piggies but all looking alike. I'm in love with a gorgeous golden coronet sow but sadly have no room at the inn.
Looking forward to seeing pictures of Willow. Is Wilma staying at Anna's so she can monitor their bonding?

Very sad :/ I think I know the piggie your talking about, there was three girls like that all almost identical!

And no Wilma is at home at the moment, we have seperated her from the other girls so she can have a more relaxing week before Willow arrives on Friday when we can observe them for a while :) I think all will be well though, Willow was a very sweet, inquisitive little girl!

NEW PIGGIE ARRIVING ON FRIDAY! Cannot contain my excitement! :D

Since Saturday when we visited the rescue centre we have seperated Wilma from the lunks (as advised by Anna ) and she has definately become more vocal and when I put them outside on the grass for a few hours the other day in her own run (next to the other girls run)...They were squeaking and making a huge fuss about not sharing a run anymore and were running nose to nose up and down the wire with each other!

You can't please them'!
