I thought it was about time that I introduced some new faces!

Around 12 months ago I was involved in transporting a pair of pigs across the country as part of a rescue mission. One pig in particular, got stuck on my mind....

Fast forward 12 months, and I'm STILL thinking about him, so....

Introducing new pig number one..... Mr Scruff!

He really is the most fantastic pig - a huge character and very outgoing and confident!

Mr Scruff is a neutered male and is very closely bonded to his wife-pig, Mrs Scruff (formerly Valentina). She's very shy, so I've not even attempted to get any photos of her, but she's getting braver by the day!

I will do my next news after my laptop has updated which it will do any second now!

Well, that was good timing!

More Mr Scruff photos! Everyone who meets him falls in love...and rightly so!

Congrats Amanda, Mr Scruff is truly gorgeous, can't, wait to meet Mrs!

Loving the dishes!

Oh wow that picture of you holding hands should be framed. You really are smitten.

Next pig news...

Big Dave was unwell recently with squeaky wees - urine tests showed no infection, he was painful over his right kidney and bladder, so he had a CT scan to check for stones. No stones were found anywhere in his urinary system, but there was some sludge in his bladder - not a huge amount though so it was felt that he should just pass it. He improved initially, but then deteriorated, with blood in his urine and a lot of pain when urinating. His pain relief was increased from a huge dose of metacam, to tramadol, to vetergesic via injection. He was booked in for bladder surgery last Tuesday, but deteriorated significantly over the weekend before this, and it became apparent that his problems actually stemmed from his kidneys. His pain was under control on the vetergesic injections, but he continued to lose weight dramatically, so he was PTS a week ago on Monday.

This obviously left me with the dilemma of Maggie being on her own - poor little Mags who has been though so much in the last year...

Last week, the car was packed up and Maggie went off to Suzy at Glynneath GPR, accompanied by Jeff and Cameo.... and look what I brought back today!

All three pigs are incredibly happy as a trio - Jeffrey and Maggie are totally in love, Cameo is still a bit of a loner, but when she wants to be part of the threesome, they welcome her. I never knew a pig could have a happy face, but Maggie definitely has one! :))

I am so sorry Amanda. How sad.

Wonderful your three are bonded now and Maggie is happy. She has been through so much. Jeffrey is gorgeous.

your new additions are stunning! so glad mr and mrs scruff have found their forever home with you and that the trio are so happy together :) x

Awww, I was so sad to hear Big Dave has gone 8.... But all your other news is so very good. Looking forward to eventually seeing Mrs Scruff. If she looks anything like Mr Scruff we're in for a treat. Do they actually only use their own bowls? Piggy paw on your finger - to die for!

Not sure if they use their own bowls...they're both always empty though!

Just got some photos of the new trio - I'm going to bed with a massive smile on my face tonight, so happy with these three!

I've put an upturned small plastic dog bed in the cage - it forms a house that all 3 can fit in if they so wish, and with a cosy on the top, makes a little platform for someone to sit on. I expected Jeffrey to be the one sitting on top... Cameo would have been the last on my mind to jump up on the top!

They all had a cherry tomato each tonight :))

Maggie really likes them

So sorry to hear about Dave Amanda, Maggie looks very happy with her new friends though, i love that last picture, looks like she has just laid her head down, let out a big sigh on relief and is going to sleep happy and contented!

xx

Glad that you have been able to make Maggie happy again, and do the same for Mr Scruff with his big pigsonality!
I was very sad when you lost Big Dave so quickly.

I am so sorry you lost Big Dave Amanda. The Scruffs are lovely and I am glad Maggie seems so happy.

I'm sorry that you lost Big Dave. However, your new additions are gorgeous. I particularly liked the photo of the tomato chin! :))

Mr Scruffy is gorgeous, I love the names! It's wonderful to see Maggie so happy after all the illness she's been through; always nice to see things turning out well x

First of all Amanda so sorry to hear of the loss of Big Dave, he was a piggie I always looked out for on the forum. Massive hugs to you. RIP Big Dave x x

So pleased Cameo and Maggie have a new friend in Jeffrey the vampire piggie, I'm sure they will be very happy together. Onto mr Scruff drool x) He is so lush, you've got a real cutie there, love his little expressive face... I am so looking forward to seeing more of him.

I love the photo of you holding his little paw.

Mr Scruff is certainly beautiful. I am sorry to hear about poor Big Dave but your new duo - trio all look very happy indeed.

Gorgeous pics! So sorry you lost Dave but if he was suffering it was the right thing to do.
