Hi all

Finally the two boys arrived today as you can see from the pics they are keeping well and truly hidden! They are a red satin (the one you can barely see!) and the other is golden satin with a ragged ear where his mum bit into it!
I have left them all day in their hutch but they have not moved from the log house once! I haven't seen them eat or drink so a bit worried-is that normal?
They have come from an indoor shed with lots of other piggies about and of course have arrived to a hutch surrounded by noises and my toddler (who I have kept away all day to get them some peace!) but just don't know how to approach them the next week really. Any advice? I shall probably have to get them out later as my OH has to add another bolt onto the hutch to make it safe and don't want to make that noise with them in it. I aim to put them in a big fleece in a large horse feed shallow bucket i have so they can just huddle together safely for the ten minutes it will take to put the other bolt on. Oooh just want them to settle but they are terrified!:(

Can't see my avatar so here are the pics

Just give them some space and time to settle for a few days. As for the food, they will eat and drink when they are ready to do so. Remember that they have been put in to a totally new environment away from what they know so will be scared.

I am sure they will be fine :) They are lovely by the way

xx

Gorgeous piggies! They will settle down in time! :)

So would you handle them at all this next week or just leave them to it?

Lift them up in a few days if you feel up to it, but keep them together and offer yummy treats (like dandelions!). Fodd is definitely the way to a piggys heart :)

Gorgeous, by the way :)

Aw, they look lovely - very pretty colouring!

If you're going to handle them (and I know I wouldn't be able to resist x) ) I, personally would stick to just 10 minutes or so at a time. They're likely to freeze at first (I know Pixel used to anyway!) but once they get a little more confident try feeding them whilst they're on your lap, something like parsley or corriander or even grass. That way, they'll begin to associate being held with a tasty treat.

Good luck, hope they settle well for you :)
