Hi all! I don’t have any photos yet, but I just adopted two new girls. The mom named Sugar is 1 year and 2 months old, and her baby is 4 weeks old. I’m going to try bonding my other two girls with them in a little bit. I’m super excited so I thought I’d share.

These two girls were transferred from another shelter a little over a month ago. I don’t have any information on their past because of that, but Sugar did have two boys who were together, who were also at the shelter. Also quick question, will Sugar have any problems since she’s had babies before?

Congratulations the girls sound adorable - what are you calling baby …as Mum is called Sugar ?
I can’t offer any advice as I have no experience of sows and their babies but I’m sure fairly sure someone with experience will be along to advise you soon.

Gosh, I thought I included that, the baby’s name is Spice.

I tried bonding them, but Sugar and Ella did NOT like each other. Lulu and Ella love spice, and Lulu loves Sugar, but I decided to split the cage in half since Ella and Sugar were starting to lunge at each other.

The two pairs each get their own 4 x 5 C&C. I’ve never seen guinea pigs have the zoomys, Sugar is running back-and-forth nonstop and Spice looks to be going insane with the amount of popcorn happening.

I’m sorry the bonding didn’t work.
The issue is that neither sugar nor Ella would be prepared to back down and one of them lose their dominant position. Sugar may also have been protective of her baby. They will be much happier kept side by side.

It's Orchard hay which is why it looks so grassy. I just buy the 25 pound boxes off Amazon from Oxbow.
