Hi guys.
Been a few months since i have been properly active on here..life gets pretty hectic sometimes doesn't it! :)
As some of you may remember i had a lone sow left when her 2 cagemates died and decided to try and rehome a piggie from a member who could no longer keep her piggie. Attempted bonding a few times and had to stop as they didnt like one and other. So was left with 2 lone piggies living side by side. Well i spoke to my mother who i live with in a heart to heart about the fact i wanted Honor and Haven (my piggies ) to have a friend each as i was worried they were lonely. Mum agreed and said i can as long as its with a rescue that dose piggie introductions/sow dating. So am rather pleased hopefully over the next few months Haven and Honor will have a friend each :) Just been looking up a local rescue again that says they do sow dating..so hopefully in next few weeks will give them a call.. :)

Any tips on how sow dating goes? Anyone done this though a rescue? ..i am so nervous they will both not find a friend each or be stubourn and wont like anyone..hehe. Also anyone adopted from Wheek and Squeek rescue (hope its ok to mention names of rescues...if not sorry) as this is who i am hoping to contact?

Anyway thats me done for now.
I shall leave you all with a pic's of my 2 girls :)

Haven

Honor

Your doing the right thing by going Sow dating at a rescue and Wheek and Squeak are Piggy Bank recommended.. so you can't ask for more.. :))
It won't be long until two become four.. xx

Haven looks a lot like my Peanut Butter. And Honor looks like a queen sitting on her throne! Hope the dating goes well.

Thanks everyone. I hope to contact the rescue in the next few weeks.. have to say i am a little excited and nervous at the same time. x

I have gone down the dating route several times with sows of mine and am a big fan of it; it is by far the safest way of finding a new friend of their own liking. Each time, I have got a very loving relationship out of it. The advantage of going to a good rescure is that the dating happens under expert supervision. with sows, you usually know within 15-20 minutes whether they click or not, so you can try several likely candidates if necessary to find exactly the right one. You will only come home with new piggies if there has been success, so you won't run any risk of having to cpe with piggies that don't get on.

Wheek and Squeak have an excellent reputation in the rescue community; several forum members have rehomed from there and I have never heard any complaints.

You are absolutely doing the right thing!

Getting a new friend for piggies is always super exciting and really nerve racking but in the end you should end up with two happy pairs of piggies. I love seeing them happy together especially if they get all snuggly.

Your girls are gorgeous and I have everything crossed that you have a great time and find some lovely new friends!
