new piggies

hi all,
i am a very lucky girl. id been wanting a new baby pig to go in with my boar and had seen a gorgeous peru on internet but who was about 2hrs from me so i thought it best to be sensible and get a piggy closer to home, i got a beautiful ginger piggy and the introductions gone really well. couldnt stop thinking about this peru tho and my OH caught me looking at the pics for the millionth time so he said phone and see if hes still available and il take you to get him! he drove me through on thurs and we decided on the way to also get his bro who was very similar so he had company. when i got there the peru and his bro had been sharing a cage for the last few weeks with a peru x who was a similar age. OH turned round and said you cant leave the little x on his own you should take him too :) i said my cage wasnt big enough for three so he said get them and il build you a new cage. then he said as this cage is bigger he might as well make it three tiers so that my other piggies can have bigger homes. my two boars who live happily together are getting the top level, the three i just got the middle level and the boar and baby i just introduced the bottom level. he knows theres a chance the three babys or the two iv just introduced could start fighting in a few mths and hes designed the cages so that if we have to seperate them we can but they will still be able to see each other and live side by side. i cant believe iv got four new gorgeous piggies in a week and getting a new indoor hutch built. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
 
You are a lucky person with all those piggies and very lucky to share them with someone who understands O0

my OH wouldnt do anything like that for me, thats why i got rid of him.

hi my hubby is lovely to was at work all day yesterday then drove me twenty two miles away to get two female piggies that where looking for a new home on the preloved forum so i now have two sows and two boars living seperatly but he cut the legs off the girls hutch to put on top of the buys two tier hutch so it now looks like a block of flats lol bearing in mind he been at work since seven am didnt get home till 6.30 they can be lovely sometimes
 
anybody got a spare hubby like that mine had a hizzy fit and didnt speak for nearly a week because i bought them a bigger hutch

Congratulations on your new arrivals :)
We would love to see pics of your new cages as we are always looking for new ideas. Your OH sounds like a sweetheart! Mine is too, he has driven me miles to get my piggies and we spent hours last week re building the cages too and he brings home grass and dandelions he has picked whilst driving around ;D
 
i will post pics of the cages when there finished. oh is getting a bit carried away. he now wants to build three seperate cages that we can stack on top of each otrer as the pigs are upstairs so if we moved we dont have to takethem apart. i saw some wardrobes that were 2 meters long and wanted to get them take the doors off and put shelves in them with new chicken wire framed doors on the front thinking they could be dismantled if we moved but oh said no he wants three individusl cages. hes going to be using 200ft of wood! there going to be 6ft long 2.5ft deep. is that big enough for the trio? x
