I collected my piggies on Saturday. They are only 6.5 weeks. They are shy and sit on the corner. They are eating and drinking and squeaking a lot.
When should I start to pick them up and cuddle them?

Such a hard task! Baby pigs are just so damned cute! Like it says in the I for pack swissgreys posted I'd get an old blanket/duvet cover/towel and cover most of their cages. It will make them feel safer in the dark and underneath something.

As for when you can pick them up for cuddles I guess the best answer is as long as you can stand not to cuddle them. a week? A fortnight? Best time is really when they are dashing as quickly as they can into the nearest hide when you come near. When they start squeaking at dinner time and start taking steps toward you for food is probably the best time to start getting them out for cuddles.... Or at least that's when I'd do it.

I sat with them last night again and they started to come out of their bed and ended up racing around the cage and squeaking like mad. It was lovely to see. 1 is a little more confident at the moment . They are also eating and drinking well

Awww great news, they sound like they are settling great now

We always start off after a few days by trying to hand feed a few veggy treats in the cage by offering some nice veggies to the new piggy when they are in their hidey, hopefully they will take it off you as you hold it in for them... after a while try offering it a little further from the hidey so they edge out and take it from you.
Food is the best way to bribe, use food when you get round to lap times also. Start lap time for a short amount of time at first and build up. We started off we laptimes for 1 minute with new piggies then pop them back, slowly increasing the time. They will soon associate you with food and good things but at first it takes a while to gain their trust.
