hi everyone, i’ve just spontaneously adopted 2 little 5 week olds boars after they were abandoned outside my local pet shop, i have 2 adult boars already at home, so of course i know not to have them together, i have multiple cages so they have everything they need but i’m wondering will it be okay for me to have them in the same room but opposite sides? will it send my original boys mad or is it normally okay?

Its fine for separate boar pairs to live in the same room as each other. (its sows you should not add into a boar room).
Have you checked they are definitely both boys?

yeh they are both defiantly little boys! i just didn’t want my other boys to get jealous or them to start fighting because of it, they will be at opposite sides, my house is tiny so i don’t have much choice then to have them in the same room

You can keep your boys on top of each other or even next to each other (better cable-tie any connecting grids in that case).

What you cannot do is introduce is sow pheromones into a boars-only room; that will cause upset even between well bonded adult boar pairs.

aww thankyou so much! this makes me feel better! starting to feel guilty i hope my other piggies don’t feel left out or like i don’t love them any more 🙈

As long as you feed, handle, groom and clean your old boys always first, you are observing proper piggy etiquette and there will be no problems. ;)
