Hi, I have just got 2 new gps - rescued from a workmate and haven't really introduced them to my 2 yet. All 4 of them are boars, Paddy and Rog are about 8 months old and George and Nigel- the newbies, about 6 months. They have spent a week in seperate cages indoors for a week and had a lovely time whistling to each other. :) Iv'e got a few days off work and the weather is quite warm(ish) and sunny- should I put them all in a run together and see how they get on?

No, I wouldn't if you're not planning to keep them together permanently. I don't agree with mixing pigs for "play time" and then seperating them back up. I've found it only increases the risks of fights and squabbles. If they were sows, I'd say give it a go but boars can be a bit more pinickerty about who they spend their time with, so to speak! Pigs should preferably be kept in the groups that they're going to live with. :)

I can only speak from my own experience with my boys. I had 3 single boys & 1 pair of boys & i had them grazing together in a "run" 14ft x 11ft & they were fine but were supervised at all times by myself.

Niki, I just love the way you get your pigs to behave. he he. Having said that, your run is bigger than my bedroom! xx Love the avatar. xx

Sadly the run isn't that big anymore - a rabbit shed's taken up some of it but still enough room for piggies to play :)

Sometimes Jane they just need "persuading" that i know best, as you saw with Haggis :)) :))
