new piggies

Hi everyone i am new to this forum.

i have recently bought 2 little boars craig and david. I am just settling them in at the moment they were very scared at first but when I'm sat in the living room they are flying round the cage at 100 mile an hour but when i go in they freeze.(they are in my kitchen). This is my first time owning guinea pigs so i am a little underconfident.

I got them a cage from pets at home i am not sure if it is big enough really i wanted the really big one which they didnt have in stock. However, i have looked at the c&c cages and they look so cool. How would i go about purchasing one of those?

Also what do we think is a suitable size cage for 2 piggies?

Also i am thinking of buying a run for in the house. Could anyone advise me on a suitable run? i will let them run free but a run would be good so i dont have to keep my eye on them all the time.

This is one of the best sites for information on making C&C cages, sometimes there are C&C cages advertised in the wanted and for sale section of the forum.
Correx/Coroplast (or whatever you want to call it) and grid are easy to get hold of.

Have a look around our reference section where we have a selection of informative threads that cover the most often asked questions a new owner will encounter, from settling new guinea pigs, diet, signs of illness and first aid kit etc to ideas for toys...

The minimum space for two guinea pigs as recommended by the RSPCA is 2x4 ft. Not going under that is especially important for boars, as it can trigger fights later on. Many members on here have changed to cages made from grids (C&C). they are cheaper and can be adapted to individual situations. Have a look at our hutch/cage gallery (best start from the end) in our housing section.

hi guys thanks for your replys. i am going to look into the cages i think mine is 4 x2 but to me they just dont look big enough.

I will put some pics up of craig and david when i get to see them haha they keep shooting away when i walk in the room. I'm unsure whether to put them in the living room for a bit to get used to it.
