Just introducing our new piggy Dolly. Our other 3 guinea pigs are around 2-3 years old, therefore, I would appreciate any tips with a young piggy as it's been a while since I had a piggy so young.

Thanks

ooooooooo Dolly is gorgeous! She looks very young though, hopefully your older pigs will be mother/aunt figures to her as she grows

Haha thankyou guys and yeah I'm hoping that they will mother her, she's about 12 weeks old and she's called Dolly ( I think she looks a bit like a sheep with her fur :p ) these are are three she will hopefully join. They are well bonded so hopefully as a group they will accept her in

What are your established groups names? Loving the hair do! :lol!: It's even madder that my hair and that's saying something!

Going from left to right it's cookie, Bella and Nala. Nala does have pretty funky hair, and she hates to be brushed :p

Oh what sweeties. My funky haired Jingle hates to be brushed too ...

How long would you guys leave her to settle before introducing her to the new group?

I'd say 3-5 days, depending on how well she settles in. However, it might be worth quarantining her for a week or two just to make sure she's happy and healthy :)

Thank you everyone well she is currently seperated and will do until I feel she is confident enough and well enough to be put in with the others three. Until then she will have cuddles with me regularly after the intial 24 hr settling time

I don't think any piggies relish brushing time. My Betsy is a Sheltie and she and the brush have fallen out. Now when she sees it coming she scarpers!

Dolly has been left alone to settle for around 24hrs do you think it would be okay to handle her. She's not coming out of her house much, although I noticed she ate the veggies last night as most had gone by the morning and she must have had a wander as poops were everywhere

Here is Dolly she has been introduced to the gang successfully :) I have included one with her next to Cookie to show how much smaller she is :p
