I am going to be looking into getting a new guinea or two in the next couple of months as our beloved guinea sadly passed away earlier this week. What should I look for a new guinea pig as good and bad signs? Also, as our guinea pig may have been sick what should I do to sterilize her previous cage? Should I use bleach and just wash it off very carefully? i am just worried that I may not get everything off and that would harm the new piggy... Any advice or pointers would be greatly accepted. ;)

So sorry for your loss. Are you thinking of getting getting just one new piggy? They really do better with a friend as they are herd animals and wired to be with friends. There is a thread in companionship on the guides at the top of the page but I can't link it in on this device. As regards cleaning the cage, I would use F10.

I am hoping to get two little pigs to keep each other company while I am at school all day! ;)
