New Piggy Health Signs?

I am going to be looking into getting a new guinea or two in the next couple of months as our beloved guinea sadly passed away earlier this week. What should I look for a new guinea pig as good and bad signs? Also, as our guinea pig may have been sick what should I do to sterilize her previous cage? Should I use bleach and just wash it off very carefully? i am just worried that I may not get everything off and that would harm the new piggy... Any advice or pointers would be greatly accepted.

So sorry for your loss. Are you thinking of getting getting just one new piggy? They really do better with a friend as they are herd animals and wired to be with friends. There is a thread in companionship on the guides at the top of the page but I can't link it in on this device. As regards cleaning the cage, I would use F10.

I agree with @Betsy please consider getting two piggies as they crave companionship of their own kind. I also agree about using the f10

Please consider getting a same sex pair rather than a solo piggy. They need companions of their own kind.
