Sorry to hearing that they keep falling out :( Hopefully though it's just because they're deciding whoes the dominant one etc and just squabbling. Are they teeth chattering? I'm still quite confident that things will be ok. It will be sad if you have to separate them and take one to a rescue, I mean, how would you choose which one to keep :( Sorry that this is happening but hopefully it will all turn out ok. It sounds like you're doing your very best for them anyway. xx

Yes there is definite teeth chattering. Both seem to be doing it, not too sure who is doing it the most. We'll keep an eye on them, they get along with each other apart from the fights they have every so often

Thanks. I think they are going to have a bath tomorrow. Dude does smell a little. It'll be interesting for them I suppose.

The other half has just had them snuggled up against her, wrapped up in her jumper. Harry quite liked that. I read somewhere that they quite like snuggling up into socks? Anyone do this?

Also, clipping their nails. We were told we wouldn't need to do them too much as we have a patio and the plan was to have them run around on that. Stupid weather put that plan to bed though and so thought I'd check out when s best to do it. How long should they be?

When the nails start to curl at the ends, they really need cutting although you can carefully take small bits off the ends to keep them short. My girls have an outside run thats on concrete that has kept their nails down but they haven't been in it for a while due to the weather. This thread should help you out more :) http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=61 a wimp and take them to the vets to have them cut even though I have only had to do this once since November and even then they were too short to be cut mallethead

Hi all, thought I'd give a quick update.

The fighting seems to have calmed down a little bit now. Either that or they are doing in on the sly when we're not around. {:|

It's still happening, but not as badly. They are sleeping in separate houses, but still seem to be getting on otherwise. Had them in the run outside yesterday which Harry seemed to enjoy more than Dude. Don't think Dude actually went out, but Harry was out until a seagull scared him :(

All in all things seem to be going well. Hopefully the fighting will stop totally soon. I doubt that they will be in the same house again anymore in their cage, but I can hope!

Thats great news :) My 2 sows get on really well but whilst outside the hutch, they only had one house in their run which they use to fight over until I brought a second one. They now mainly go in separate houses but sometimes go in the same one. Some pigs just need a little space from each other.

Hi again all. Little update on my little terrors Harry and Dude. Both got their first bath (as far as we know) the other day. Harry fell out with us over it. We did one at a time, Harry first, who was fine in the water and with water being pured on him, but as soon as the shampoo started to go on he wasn't a happy guinea and wanted out. Same with Dude but Harry really didn't like it and was shaking for the rest of the night when we touched him.

We put a little run together in front of the fire to keep them warm and put a towel in the corner which Harry loved snuggling into. Both are now clean and smell nicer! :))

We put them in their run again in the kitchen the next day which they now love (and Harry loves being outside when we can get them out!) and put the towel in the corner again. They really seem to like the towel and were generally really lively Monday night both running around like mad men chasing each other, it was really cute!

They seem to love the towel. Every time they went over to it, they'd start popcorning and rolling over it in a combined way. Brilliant to watch them running around squeeking and playing.

You'll all be pleased to know the fighting seems to have died right down. I don't think we've seen any for a while now. Still get the odd rumbling noise from them both and thye still both sleep in seperate beds, but they both run into the same house when they're startled and where as a few weeks ago there would be a fight in it, with Harry usually being the one forced out, they can now spend a long time together with them coming out on their own accord. I'm hoping they will start to sleep together again at some point, but if they don't never mind. They seem really happy at the moment, although a clipping of nails is needed soon which should be eventful!

Oh and we have some vetbed coming soon for them which we hope they will like. I want to put a towel in the cage for them as they like to snuggle in it, but there is no room. The corner I would put it in has the second house. Any suggestions for smaller things they would like to snuggle into?

And I'll try and post a video of Dude running around like an absolute nut in his run soon, really funny!
