After having a dilemma over them not having enough space and me not having 2 pennys 2 scratch my bottom with, i came up with a solution. Its not the best setup in the world, but theyre definitley a lot happier and were popcorning around in there earlier
I'm hoping if this works out and i can manage ok, they'll be staying with me :):)

Do you think its suitable?
I disinfected all the concrete, sawed the legs off their hutch (which is actually almost 5ft, not 4! :)) and then put newspaper and hay on the concrete. The bed area is FULL of hay and straw too. Might put a snuggle safe in later too. The run is 6x4 by the way

That's fantastic, I love it!

where did you get the run part? I am looking for something like that for the spring to put outside on the lawn:))

I got it off ebay, if you search 6x4 folding rabbit run theres a lot that come up. Some are 12ft! This one folds flat to make it easier to tidy away :)

...

and in really cold weather i would hide snuggle safes in the hutch part. Plus There would be loads more hay in the run, although finding a piggy would be like those tombola things i had at primary school where you stick your hands in shredded paper to find a tiny parcel! :))

Well done! I think it's a fantastic idea. It must be so difficult to part with them, they're so gorgeous. x) Do you think you will keep them now? x

I hope so, ive been in hospital all last week for tests and investigations and I'm hopefully having a kidney removed at some point this year, so if i can manage until then i hopefully wont be ill as often. Fingers crossed anyway. :)

Happy pigs :))

They do look very happy, my piggies just love to hide in hay too :)

You could get a massive sheet of tarpaulin to cover the run, would save the hay from getting too wet? I bought one call 'Mono tarpaulin' from e-bay for my rabbits 12ft run, and because it like a clear/white it still lets in plenty of light.

Does the run get covered over the top? I just worry about foxes! Otherwise it looks really good :)

Crikey! When you said your health was up and down I see what you mean now. I wish you all the best, you and your piggies. xx>>>

Hi, :)

I think your idea is brilliant! Well done! May I suggest though you take off the mesh door to the hutch and put a wood door or panel like the other door that is on the hutch, that way they will have two sleep areas and have an opening so they can come in and out as and when. You have a top to the pen so there is no need for the hutch to be shut as long as the pen is secure, this way they can have full use of the pen. I would also not bother with all the hay in the pen, they don't need it, just have loads in the hutch, that way when it rains it won't get all wet, plus no bird droppings getting on it. Hope you don't mind my saying :red
