Hi, I've just noticed this little bald spot under my little guys chin, it's new and doesn't look fungal. I've heard "chub rub" can cause a little bit of fur loss in skin folds and over grooming by their partner or eating messy food can also cause a little hair loss. Is this an example of the above? Thanks 😊

He is otherwise healthy and behaves normally, he's had a pair since very small and have lived together for 2 years. There does not seem to be any sort of irritation, redness or marks on the bald spot. The only behaviours I have noticed is that this pig has started resting his head on top of his pairs head every now and again.

Please let me know why you think he may have this bald spot :)

I’m not sure. I would ask a vet to check it over. I’ve never had a bald spot like that on any of my piggies.

It's okay, it is resolved.

Turns out my pig is likely to have masturbated and got his semen stuck in his chin hair. Not the nicest of thoughts... thanks though haha

Boar glue does stick fast (hence its name) , but doesn’t pull out hair or cause bald spots, so unless you removed it and pulled the hair out by accident I’d still be tempted to get a vet to check it isn’t something like a fungal infection.
